BRANDING BITES

When Consistency Becomes Invisible

Have you ever wondered why some brands instantly feel trustworthy, yet you can’t quite explain why? It’s probably not because they’re doing more. It’s because they’re doing less more consistently.

One of the biggest misconceptions about branding is that consistency means making everything look identical. It doesn’t. Consistency is about reducing doubt.

If I were reviewing your brand here are three places I’d start

Firstly… put your last five customer touch points side by side. Website, proposal, presentation, emails, LinkedIn. Do they feel like they belong to one business…or five?

Secondly… look at your typography and imagery. Most established businesses accumulate styles over time. One designer, then another, then another. Eventually the brand slowly loses its identity.

Finally… review your newest piece of marketing. Could you remove the logo and still recognise it as your business? If the answer’s no, your consistency may only be skin deep. The strongest brands aren’t recognised because of their logo. They’re recognised because everything feels familiar. That’s consistency working properly.
