Have you ever looked at another business and thought, “They’re not actually better than us…”, yet somehow they just look more established? If you’ve ever felt like your business isn’t getting credit for how good it really is. This might be why.
One thing I’ve noticed about established businesses is this. They often grow faster than their branding does. Over time…your services evolve. Your reputation grows. Your team expands. Your customers change. But your brand is still telling the story of who you were five years ago.
If I were reviewing your business, here’s where I’d start looking.
Firstly… compare your website to your business today. Not from a design perspective… from a credibility perspective. Does it reflect the level you’re operating at today…or the business you used to be?
Secondly… look at your sales material. Presentations, proposals, case studies. Do they confidently communicate your experience or have they slowly become a collection of different styles over the years?
Finally… ask someone outside the business one question. “What sort of company do you think we are?” Their answer is often incredibly revealing.
If it doesn’t match who you’ve become your brand may already be holding you back. Your business should never have to work harder because your branding is telling yesterday’s story.
